Opportunity to Serve & Meet ACHE Fellowship Requirement
August 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
Overview of the Organization:
Alliance exists to provide affordable healthcare to working, uninsured adults in Wake County. Even with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, tens of thousands of hard working residents of Wake County with incomes at or below the federal poverty level find themselves without access to affordable, compassionate healthcare services.
Volunteer/Civic Engagement Opportunity:
Alliance offers a Community Garden and is used to provide fresh food and nutrition education to its patients, with the partnership of members in the community. All fresh produce grown in the garden are handed to the patients by the providers, along with healthy recipes.
Join the THEF Chapter for the “Come Dig in Our Garden” on Saturday August 12 from 9 am to 12 pm. The volunteer opportunity will include overview of the organization, a tour of the facility, and hands-on engagement with garden activities – including planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting!
Please come in comfortable clothes to join us for a mission to embrace and practice healthy living!
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Register TODAY!
